cavaliers hope to land Dwight Howard

The Orlando Magic All-Star center is willing to re-up with the Lakers in the summer of 2013, according to multiple reports.
With Howard's verbal commitment to re-signing with the Lakers, they have reportedly reached out to Cleveland to help get Orlando the kind of package it wants in a three-team deal. The Cavaliers could get Andrew Bynum, with Anderson Varejao and a package of assets (draft picks, young players and cap relief) heading to Orlando.
Lin lands in Houston: Jeremy Lin talked about his new deal with the Rockets on the same practice court where he worked in virtual anonymity seven months ago before he was waived. Lin became a Rocket again when the Knicks decided not to match Houston's three-year, $25 million offer.
"It's been an unbelievable ride," Lin said. "Just a lot of things I didn't expect to happen, in terms of just the way last season went. I still have to kind of remind myself that this is all actually happening, sometimes."U.S. 118, Britain 78: Deron Williams and Carmelo Anthony responded to a lineup change with 19 points apiece in an exhibition in Manchester, England. Coach Mike Krzyzewskiinserted Kevin Durant into the starting lineup for Anthony and Williams for Chris Paul.
NBA votes for rule changes: The league's Board of Governors met in Las Vegas to vote on several rule changes for next season. The board, which includes one owner from each team, voted to expand instant replays for all flagrant fouls and for late-game goaltending. The board also discussed on-jersey ads, flopping and the draft lottery.
Boston could nab Lee: The Celtics are close to acquiring Houston guard Courtney Leefor E'Twaun Moore, JaJuan Johnson, Sean Williams and a second-round pick in a sign-and-trade deal, according to Yahoo.

Point guard Maalik Wayns left the Warriors' summer-league team, indicating that he got a guaranteed deal from another team. ... Former Warriors forward Vladimir Radmanovic, who played for Atlanta last season, agreed to a deal with Chicago.
